The opportunity
Reporting to Manager, Licence Management, this role is responsible for leading and managing staff in assessing, determining, and escalating applications for a range of gambling related licences and approvals (including gambling products and systems) that present a risk of gambling related harm and/or complexity, and undertaking activities relating to the ongoing monitoring of industry participants. In addition, the Assistant Manager is responsible for escalated high risk applications and undertaking activities relating to the ongoing suitability of industry participants; overseeing the management of entitlements for Electronic Gaming Machines; and analysing performance data to identify trends, emerging issues, and improvement opportunities; and providing specialist advice on procedural, legislative and regulatory issues.
Key responsibilities
- Manage staff undertaking activities relating to the processing, assessment, escalation, and determination of a range of applications that present risk of gambling related harm.
- Manage and coordinate change management processes, new ways of working, and help to build a positive and proactive team culture, including training and development and lifting capability of the team.
- Embed harm minimisation considerations in licensing application, assessment, and monitoring processes.
